I have an undergraduate in General Studies from the UA, and a doctorate in Comparative Literature from UC Irvine. My humanities background allows me to draft and present complex technical reports, perform risk assessments, and make high-stakes decisions with limited information. My approach to problem-solving is informed by my philosophical training, and by a career-long interest in ethical decision-making during wartime. Flight test engineers need to learn complex systems quickly, place details in context, and understand how small changes cascade through a system. This is actually easier than translating A.W. Schlegel or teaching Homer to undergraduates, and you get to meet real-life Hectors on the flight line.
